Writing prompt of the day: Write about your muse – what do they look like? What does your muse do to inspire you?
My muse can be no one else but me. A 22-year-old woman with the unmet emotions of a ten-year-old little girl. Someone that strives to overcome her fears and her past and someone that loves her life with every fibre of her being, even when it’s painful.
I am the source of my inspiration through my experiences, happy and sad days, my decisions and my mistakes. I put myself out there even when it hurts, to tell stories that I can only voice through characters, through fiction, because reality hurts too damn much.
I don’t need to look a certain way or behave in a certain way to inspire my writing. I only need to be myself, to find myself in the storms clouding my mind and in the quietness of my heart. I only need to open myself up to me and share what my body, soul and mind already know.
I am my own art gallery collection, filled with emotion, life experiences -tragic and beautiful, as well as, a book full of stories, a museum full of pieces to show and a song lyric that can be interpreted in thousands of ways.
I need only to voice an opinion, have a thought and it becomes the central part of my writing. I am my own muse and I think I will be for a long time, until I tell my story fully.
